who is the cheapest insurance companys to ask quotes off?
-
Admiral, Elephant and Bell but they don't like modifications.
You could try specialists such as HIC (who sponsor this section) or Adrian Flux although I can't remember whether they only insure 19 and above or 18 and above.
-
Who keeps saying they don't mods?
I've had mods declared with Bell for 3yrs and it barely effects my premium
-
Most mods with bell are about £50 extra for me, lowering was £150 :lipsrsealed:

When I was younger (hang on - I'm not even that old!) whenever I used to put a mod in it would say quote unavailable!
-
been quoted between 3000-4000k

Add your parents to the policy

Being 18 and on a GTI that doesnt surprise me. Do what Mew said and stick the parents on, should bring it down a bit.
Who was that quote with?
-
for a mk4 golf gti turbo ( im 18) was 3500!! :| and have not passed test yet. and 19 in under a month!! :Z

It will go up when you pass Tobe1990 sure as eggs is eggs! :D
-
that was with my parents. lol. and the quotes i had were with admiral, bell, hic, adrian flux and on comparison sites.
but for me its cheaper to insure a 16v mk3 and with a years no claims (which ill get in jan) will be about 1500.
-
Yeah, but that means you have to drive a MK3 :undecided: :D

I'm 19 with bell on a mk4 gti. best thing to do is get that first years ncb under your belt and you're away. I was looking at paying £2700 without any ncb and as soon as i got my first year it went down to £900. Hope this is helpfull, its worth running a small engine for a year then moving up
-
i pay 800 im 21 and drive a mk3 8v gti mods havent affected my claim at all and only 1 year NCB
-
Hey all im £1450 for mk2 Golf Gti 16v with 1 ncb. Banned for a year from sep 07 till sep 08 when i was 17. Now 20. So not too bad considering. :smug:
-
Im 19 with 0 no claims bonus
ive been driving 2 1/2 years and i get bent over backwards for quotes! i payed out 2300 this year for mg zs 1.6I which was about 1700 of it and the rest for mk2 gti 8v.
now i've sold them both!
im would try looking at classic car insurance, i'll be doing that when i get an e30 :lipsrsealed:
