I want to fit peugeot 206 water jets to my mk2 golf, is this possible? I want to do this because they have a great spray, like 6 jets in each! or can you get something similar from a newer golf that would fit?
cheers
-
Ya should try the ones from a 405. They are actually on the wiper arm! ;D
Parts available from a scrappy!
-
Just get some LED Washer jets from Chavfords! Yup know you want too ;D
-
I'd rather stick a fork in my eye :)
Na, i'd rather the 206 ones :) do ya think they would just fit in?
-
Not a chance - square peg round hole.
Dont know just guessing, but i'll bet the hole in the bonnet wont be the same. Hoses should fit tho.
-
I'll take a look at my mates, as it's plastic I am sure I can adapt it, will look on egay for some pug jets :)
-
mk4 ones are fan shaped and are absolutely brilliant at wetting the screen, located above the scuttle though so you'd be looking at filling/painting a couple of holes.
-
Nice one! i'll check ebay for them, I could always leave the old jets there and have four seperate jets :) lol
-
Just do what i did, get two heated jets in the two standard holes, and get two normal jets from the breakers, then they just fit into the other oles in the bonnet, near the middle, then you have 8 jets. It works better than he MK4 i think! You also have to two of the three way connectors for the tubing. Then it all looks standard, cos it kinda is.
You want a picture, anyone?
-
Yep, show me more :) sounds kinda interesting
-
Right, i've just uploaded the pics, waiting for them to be approved. I'll put them in the MK2 section under a new topic, so everyone can see!
-
Looking good mate ;)
I'll try and get some off a pug this weekend :)
-
YEah, it will all work fine, just make sure if your keeping the originals you'll need the three way connectors, if not, it'll be just a case of unplug old, plug in new. Don't know how easy it will be to fit them though... At least if you get stuck, try my method, as its easy and works very well. Post up some pics when your all done yeah?
-
will do!
-
well. i got the pug jets, and they just clip in place of the old ones with a little gap shwing on the front and back as theye are a little shorter, nothing that can't be fixed :)
They looked good, but when i tested them the spray just hits the very bottom of my screen :(
Because the 206 has a much more angled screen and the jets are further away they worked fine, but not on the golf. And there is no adjustment on the nozzle :(
I have a few choices now!
1) makes something up to increase the angle of the washer jet, could be tricky though and it may stick uo to much
2) place the ket belw the grill on the bonnet somhow and hope the jets pas through the holes fine
3) A BIT WAY OFF BUT, I have a single wiper conversion so I have two holes with gromits in on either side :) the jets could go in ther I guess but may look rubish
What do you think? Any other ideas?

Try putting something underneath the front of them, its surprisiong how little it will have to be raised, i had to do that with my rear washer jet. If not, then theres always a way that is easy and is guaranteed to work...... you know the way!

Halfords LED Neon Washer Jets!?!?!? ;)
NEVER!!! It's the way i did mine that works!!
-
Got some "turbo" washer jets coming from egay, they boast a delta pattern, which I am asuming from the greek alphabet they have a flat trianglar spray pattern like i want. And they are adjustable :)
I'll let you know
-
Interested to see some photos too!
-
Got them today and fitted them, really easykit, comes with all bolts rubber tubing etc
Can't test them as I have an electrical fault at the moment, but will take pics when she's well!
-
Cool! So you reckon they'll be better than having 8 jets? :D 8)
-
If they are the same as the pugs jets then yes, better than 20 jets! as you get a fine burst of spray, similar to the 'flat' setting on your garden hose nozzle, if you get what i mean.
Pop down to your local pug dealer and test drive a 206, you can see for your self :)
Just need some power now :)
-
Finally got the car sorted, the jets are awsome :) I'll post pics when i get a chance
-
Yeah, i'm very interested in seeing them!! I wonder if they're better?? How much water do they use up?
-
Here is a scan of the packaging:
(http://www.realitydesigns.co.uk/forum images/spray.jpg)
They probably use less water than normal i guess!!
and they are much better, honest, best mod ihave done :)
-
A bit like the MK4 ones then! I'd love to compare them to mine, and see how much better (if any ;D) they are! Mine use pretty much the same water as normal.....
-
Every time i was the car i polish the screen and then put rain-x on. Never had a problem with the factory jets. ???
-
I always use rain x aswell, great stuff!!
Standard jets are fine, but I think these are better, just personal taste i guess :)
-
sorry if i came off wrong mate :) Just was thinking that if they were giving you problems may have had other problems then the jets.
-
No, you did not come off wrong, i got what you ment :)
No other problems with the jets, apart that one was blocked, just wanted a change :)
take care
-
Still waiting for the pics.....
Nothing really wrong with mine either, just waned somethng to do! ::)

-
Does a mk4 have the washer jets built into the wiper arms? don't remember.
-
nah.. they're on top of the scuttle
