Title: good deal or not?

what do you think of this?

been offered a gti 16v for 400 notes

bout 113K

needs a new clutch,

comes with a new head ready to put on (which is fully built, pressure tested and skimed) as the gasket went

has had new brakes

has SS powerflow back box

needs new headliner

maybe a new sunroof seal

needs parcel shelf

and needs tax + mot as they ran out

fcuk me, you can have mine for 800 still mot'd, just needs wheels and new lifters  :rolleyes:

Depends on how rusty the manifold bolts are. Days job max if everything is easily removed.

I got my Oak green 'valver for 320.00 with all the parts to repair. Tax and MOT too.

Still gives me a chuckle :grin:

on topic, yes I'd say worth a punt.

 Even if it's a dog you'd make that back if you broke it

Research all the tools you need to tackle the job so you don't have to dash off mid job to the motofactors :wink:

looks a bargin and quite a rare colour swartz blu shocking wheels though ask for a discount to take them away. also before you order the cluctch take the gearbox off and check it is a 16v one as sooo many 16v's used to come in with a MK2 8v gearbox fitted which has a smaller input shaft, than a genuine 16v one.

Looks like Maritimblue to me (LA5E). Didn't know that they used that on the GTI. Usually the CLs have this colour. Looks OK, but maybe re-sprayed?
