Title: old sony flip front XR-M510(I think). How to enter a code?
Post by: tomcat on 13 September 2009, 21:35
Hi
Just got new toy and it has a Sony head unit that is a flip down front one, it has a red button to the right that beeps when I push it and a reset button that beeps again but nothing.
It needs the code putting in but I can't get the front to open to enter the code.
So I have a black screen with, "Code In" written on it.
Any idea's? Am I just being really thick! :embarassed:

you have to enter the code using the remote
without the remote or the correct code you will not get it to work

I haven't got the code, I was going to take it to a car audio place once I got the remote. Is there an easier way of finding out the code I need?

the code is made up of several combinations using the open/close source buttons etc it is not just a series of numbers
you can get the code from here
http://www.instant-radio-code.co.uk/sony-code-search.php?gclid=COeE5buW9JwCFZkA4wodMjdujQ
by entering your serial number
