Golf mk2 G60 and 16v have uprated engine mounts as standard compared to other mk2's. I just used a new set of 16v ones on my 20v conversion.

Get a Cordoba subframe and get it stitch-welded, which will make it a lot stiffer.

The mount at the back of this subframe is different to the Golf2 ones, but should be better for it.  You can cut off the rear tabs, unless you want to bolt them up through the floor to add extra rigidity again.

I would avoid using a solid front mount, especially in view of you using the car as a daily.  Golf2 1.3 rear gearbox mount should be sufficient - it's solid rubber.

well i should be using Vibratechnics mounts they seem rather good, but i meant the mounting brackets from the car to the block i just cant see how they bolt on!

Original alloy mount bolted on back of 20v so oem mk2 mount can be used.

I used a Passat GT 2.0 16v box with G60 flywheel and uprated VR6 corrado clutch. Used original mk2 mounts.

End result

My box was a 02a. Was fine with the power just slightly short gearing.

I removed all the boost pipes and used universal items to tidy things up a bit.
Used a sprinter intercooler.

I ont want to hijak the thread or create a new one. Do you guys use a 1.8t mk2 web page at all? Like mk2vr6.com?
I am undergoing the transplant in the next few weeks and want to read up about more things like engine mounts etc as above.

I was using the standard fuel pumps.

Mine was a 16v and the fuels pumps are good for a 300bhp 1.8T
