any MK1 & MK2 1.8 lump carb, gti or 16v will have the right flywheel, the one you want is a 210mm item. match the clutch to the gearbox you use, also match the driveshafts to it as well.  the 1.3 box and shafts are no good, neither is any of the linkages, you need all the stick and linkages out of a 1.6-1.8 MK2 with a manual 5 speed box.  You may also need the steering rack, the 1.3 item might not have the threaded holes for the big block linkage. if you look at the MK2 linkage repair how2 guide you'll see what I mean.

gearbox wise any mk1-2 1.5-1.8 manual 5 speed box will do, but shafts must be MK2 items.  MK2 1.6 boxes will have 90mm shafts, as will all early MK1 boxes. Ideally get a 1.8 GTI 8v box and 10mm driveshafts
