Title: VAG COM
Post by: adyh on 15 September 2004, 09:57
For many months i have been toying with the idea of buying this device in case of a problem on my beloved Golf .

Now with an intermittent ABS light i have had to take the plunge,  so here are my thoughts and comments .

I bought the lead from E-Bay , you may have seen it , the one with the dodgy translation . All in all cost about ?44 .

It came last night and took about a week after i ordered it .

All the components are there (allways a good sign) , however the actual connector comes without the pins installed into it .

Hmmmm , no labels , and no instructions . But there is a small piece of paper a paragraph of text written in german and some websites listed on it .

Try the one that is in the text . No joy get a german error message.

So translate the text and confirm that this is the site for the pin outs . So point the tranlator at the page and bingo .

So i now have an OBD lead for the golf . Ill post again when i can get out of the office for half an hour.

All is good the lead works perfectly , it appears that i have a right rear intermittent signal fault .

I advise everyone to buy one of these , superb.

Alternativly if you in the london area pm me and you can use mine  .
