I have just done the following on my audi 80 coupe
washed/clayed/washed
meguiars paint cleaner/polish/wax
looks and feels brilliant but they is a lot of swirl marks on the bonnet
what can I use to get them out as i thought the paint cleaner did it but has not really touched them
I want something i can use by hand as i dont have a machine polisher anymore
-
you'd be hard pushed by hand.. machine polisher is the only effective way really

I'm afraid Paint Cleaner does just as it says, it deep cleans the paint, it won't touch any swirl marks. If you want to put alot of elbow grease into it, Meguiar's Ultimate Compound will get rid of swirls, it will take an awful lot of hard work to do a full car though.
As Guy said, the best way is via a full machine polish.

Hi Rob. I used the same 3 step products.Did you find the instructions a bit lacking in detail? For example..how long are you supposed to leave the polish/wax etc on for?? I also hoped for better scratch removal but guess the experts know what they're talking about...machine polish seems to be the way to go!

i aint had much experience with a machine polisher i may need some instructions to follow
as i seen somebody machine polish a black r8 and it looked terrible in the sun from the polisher
might have to borrow one from work so is megs ultimate compound the one to use might buy it
and try it out next week

yeah i thought they lacked slightly the polish was a nightmare to take off i had to rub it with a damp cloth then buff it
and i was indoors still pretty good stuff i thought though
