Title: replacing clutch cable

Im changing from an auto adjust clutch cable to a manual one and wanted to know is there any extra bits needed to do this as i spoke to a guy at gsf who said this maybe the case?

I used to change them everytime i bought a golf,never had to put anything else on just straight swap.
