Title: Cut wires going into doors
Post by: -(GIT)- on 13 September 2004, 20:50
Hello all, Just found out that the reason my M3 rear windows were not working is caus the wires have been cut from being too tight where they pass through the rubber boots going between the door panel and the rear doors. This looks to be wear and tear to me but not sure....

Wanted to ask if anyone has found a similar problem on the M3 door wiring?
Cheers,

Look at the last recall in the list at the bottom of this page.? Could be relevant.? Might even be worth speaking to VW as if your car is subject to this recall and it hasn't been done, they will probably rectify the problem for free.? Long shot but worth looking into.

Link doesn't go straight there, just select a golf mk3 from the menus.

Hey jte,
Many thanks for the link.
Although its not that specific, it seems there was some mention of main power cables being cut in the door feeds. I will look into this a bit more and see where things get.
In the mean time, a lengthen and solder off of the wires has got the windows and speakers going again.

Cheers for your post,
