Title: Changed cars again
Post by: chrisr103 on 05 September 2009, 21:51
The last time I posted on here I had my blue mk4 2.0gti, Since then I have had a 1.8 non turbo GTi, A Bora TDi & finally the other week I bought a Gti 1.8t

After owning my Bora TDi for a few months I got bored of the diesel & decided I wanted a GTI, So I sold it & went & after a few days of hard looking I bought a 51 plate 5 door silver GTi.

So from this

Only owned it for just over a week & I have got a set of wheels sorted for it already

Also won an Anni rear valance on ebay (just need to pick it up), Bought a set of Anni rep side skirts the other day, Should have the skirts & rear valance painted this weekend

I did enjoy the fuel consumption of the Bora & it was a very clean car. When I got it the car was totally standard & only had 68k on it, But after fitting Recaro's, VW Sat Nav, A set of alloys then all the other styling things I wanted to do were big money, So I decided to sell it & get the GTi, Only cost me £100 to go from the Bora to the Golf aswell. :smug:

Just thought I would take a couple of pics of my current wheels.

Now for a bit of a progres update. Managed to get my Anni style rear valance painted & fitted today

Then when I finished work tonight I was in the mood for a bit more modding so ended up doing this.

Then the final thing was to get it looking like this

Sat a bit high when it came off the ramp

But once outside I was a bit more pleased with it

Just need an Anni style front spoiler and roof spoiler to finish the look off

Ive got a full G-max kit that I bought off Patch but with it fitted I think ill have issues getting on & off the driveway, Especially if I have the Anni front valance fitted aswell, Might just get some 25 or 30mm springs & use the rest of the G-max set up with them.

Nice work mate, its coming along nicely!

just out of intrest how much did you pay to have the rear valance and front spliter sprayed?

Post by: chrisr103 on 28 September 2009, 19:57
The guy who painted them took my old monty 2 wheels off me in return for painting the rear valance, front valance & side skirts, The old wheels were rotten so not really worth anything so he only wanted them for the tyres

I hae a bit of an issue with getting on & off the Driveway as it is so if I lower it then it will be even harder, I need to look into it though as ive already got a complete set up that i bought off Patch that he used to have o nhis car & that did sit quite low.

Post by: DarkGti on 13 December 2009, 21:36
oh yes i no the driveway routine very well:angry::laugh:
ive been through 2 anni front splitters in the space of 6 months lol one time i fitted my coilovers on the Sunday dropped it 60mm (it was on its arse lol) left it over night, woke up late for work in the morning got in my car sped off and ripped my anni front splitter clean off lol! not very happy and the second time was over a speed bump that cracked my oil sump as well! lol
Title: Re: Changed cars again
Post by: chrisr103 on 13 December 2009, 21:41
Thats the main reaon im not too bothered about lowering it, Might try & find some Anni springs as I belive they sit 25mm lower than the standard GTi anyway
