Title: Cleaning throttle body

hi, ive been told that my mk4 needs the throttle body cleaned... just wanted to know wat the best cleaner would be for it and is it an easy job that i could do myself  ?   thanks.

when i did mine i just got some carb/choke cleaner from motorfactors cost bout £3 iirc. its dead simple to do, you dont say if its a turbo, but this is how i did mine  :wink:
undo jubilee clip from throttle body to intercooler abnd remove pipe
then remove the 4 cap head bolts 5mm allen key
now you can twist the body round so you can clean it. spray cleaner into body thisd will disolve the carbon in there
i used a rag to wipe it clean. once done the T/B will be nice n shiny
