Post by: werevilla on 12 September 2004, 21:22
i have just bought a mk3 16v on an n plate . When driving at night the trip and mile display shines brighter than the digital clock is this normal or is there a bulb located behind the digital clock

as far as i can remember, the lights behind the lcd clocks are surface mount led's & are a right pain to change unless your good at soldering & have loads of patience. there are 2 bulbs in the casing of the clocks above the rev/speedo gauge that can be changed from the back, on the outter casing. you should have brightness control aswell, to the left of the headlight switch, have a play with that see if that does the trick
