Title: Perfect apart from....
Post by: gc76 on 01 September 2009, 20:53
So today I picked up my new GTI (I forgot how good that new car smell is ).  Everything is fantastic apart from I noticed that I didnt have the Flat Tyre indicator which I spec'd and payed for.

I need to go to the dealers next week to drop off my old car V5 logbook and I will mention it then, but can this be retro fitted??  If not its not the end of the world.

Don't think it can be retrofitted, but for £35 may be worthwhile challeging your dealer and getting some goodies off them, worth twice as much.

best off luck..

Probably a daft question but I take it there is also no reset button in the glove box above the airbag key switch?

Just in case they have installed it but not physically connected it?

Not sure.  I will have a look in the morning.  Is the reset button not supposed to be near to the ESP/Parking sensors buttons?

No they moved it into the glovebox on the 2010 model.

sweet, i'd be very interested to see what its like in red as my mk5 was red and that's my favourite colour (but went for black this time around)

Probably not a big deal but it probably would have better saving yourself £35. I have it in mine and was driving around with 19" wheels on 21psi for about a week and the tyre indicator only gave a warning on the day I was about to put the std wheels back on. :embarassed:

A pointless piece of kit... unless your totally useless and cant tell if your tyres need more air

I had it on my mk5 with the 18's and I thought it was good. There was a couple of times when I got a screw through the tyre and it worked

Just noticed on the way home from work that the passenger door insert is leather and not cloth. Phoned dealer and they have ordered me a new one.

I didn't notice this yesterday, probably to excited with the DSG to see.

The dealer had a chuckle when I phoned.  Not too fussed as it will be replaced soon.

PS  When the weather is a little nicer I will take some pics.  The joys of living up North

I didn't get that also. Perhaps mine and yours were next to each other and our guy wasn't doing his job  :smug:

At last some better weather and a chance to give the GTI a couple of coats of Dodo Juice Super Natural Wax.  Any how here are a few pics...
