Title: VW using Mobile 1 ESP oil Now

I have just had my MOT & lube service at a VW dealer....  Oil, oil filter, Brake Fluid, Sump plug, Coolant
Ok it did cost £70 all in, but I don't want the job of bleeding the brakes etc

Anyway they have started using Mobile 1 oil, which you guys say avoid???  So what am I about to expect??  1000miles then bang engine dead???

I wouldn't of thought VW would just throw any oil into my TDI, as if they do the service & it goes bang they get a massive repair bill??

***My motor is a  GT TDI 130PD***

What do you guys think???

i just bought and used 5 litre of Quantum Plantinum for my PD 130 for £25 which is VW approved

not upto date on current manufacturers being approved but as long as it matches the specs (ask to see the bottle perhaps) then it should be fine

It's running fine 60miles on

They gave me the rest in a topup bottle, which it all matches the requirements.  Just in the MK4 service link, people say Avoild Mobile 1?

Think thats for the older oils :-S end of the day if ur engine goes pop cos of the oil, the comeback is on vw ;-)
