Well after getting the head unit fitted and out of the way my next job was to remove the interior mirror to spray it mattblack
managed to remove the mirror and got the glass all masked over rubbed down ready to prime and put the mirror outside ready to prime completely forgot about the wind :rolleyes: and then........i heard it drop :cry: just my luck the glass is in several pieces :cry: what to do? well it was 5 mins before my local vw breaker was due to shut at 4 so quick call and have you an interior mirror? in luck yes they had one so i asked if i could fetch it as i didn't want to wait until tuesday was told fair enough come over so gets over to gateshead and asked whats your colour told them the creamy coloured one and not the rain sensor one either didnt have any that colour but......i have a black one :afro: result(saved me painting it) and £10 well happy gave it a clean and got it fitted and abit more of a plus managed to sell my old sports seats on e-bay for £107 :smiley:

turned out not to bad afterall maybe i should have thought about this in the first place.....

what did you use to stick the mirror back in place? ive had the bad luck of having the mirror part come off the ball mount, and when i went to clip it back on, the windscreen cracked :(
when i replace it im wondering how its mounted?

new windscreen should come with the bracket already in place; if not the windscreen people will have some stuff strong enough to bond it back to the screen

im thinking it shouldnt be too bad, but ive got the problem of not being covered, but il soon have that changed on insurance, i might get a second hand screen from a breaker if i cant sort it out
