any idea how much it wud cost i wud liek a genuine vw one.

and is a cv joitn different to the cv boot because i had that done a few months ago on the drivers side,

also if it were to be the cv joint then why does it click on both left and right i assuem theres two of these on the front so they cant of both gone at the same time?

thanks

Was the old boot split and lost grease?  Could be the CV joint inside was dry and got damaged.  The CV joint can be replaced on its own without replacing the whole driveshaft, not an easy DIY job though.  Seems quite a coincidence?

If it aint the CV I'd suggest a dodgy top-mount bearing?  :undecided:

the cv boot was split and it lost most its grease this was later changed though,

ok so if it is the cv joint damaged then would it not only do the clicking on one side howcome it does it on both sides does this mean i need to buy 2 outer cv joints...

anyone know what i will need them is this problem completely independent from the cv boot...

if both sides are making noise then could be something else has gone prior to your cv joint going... get it to a garage on monday and have a proper look at both cv joints and other bits and bobs around it on both sides.. no point buying stuff which later on you may find out wasnt the problem mate.. so 4get guessing and get it checked
