Title: Need some help!!! Or is it normal??
Post by: R32_T on 11 September 2004, 11:26
Hi peeps, was just wondering if someone could help me out. I drive a 2001 20V Turbo, engine is standered except for a induction kit.

When I start my car in the mornings, it revs just over 1000 rpm, as its running for around 20 secs or so, I start to hear like a juddering noise from the engine, like its missing or something. It only lasts for around 10 secs, then revs back to normal. (Normal is just under a 1000 rpm, isnt it???)

Could it be something to do with the vacum pipes??

Thanks

what kind of induction kit is it ? if that's all that you've changed you've possibly got some gunk on the MAF sensor, clean it up with a bit of carb cleaner.

Hi peeps

I've cleaned the MAF sensor with a bit of carb cleaner around 4 weeks ago, and i've cleaned it again today because the problem started again in the morning.

What could it be????? :'(

if cleaning the MAF cured it temporarily.. it could be on its way out, try cleaning the throttle body too

hard to say... too much to go wrong on modern engines  :-\
its times like this when its handy to know someone with vagcom to check for faults.

Cheers anyway, i'll clean the throttle body and see what happends, if still the same, i'll find someone with vagcom and have it checked out.
