I bid £450 for this registration recently on the DVLA 'sealed bid' auction. It actually sold for £460(insider dealing surely!).
I fully intend getting the new R20 when it breaks cover, spy shots etc. are looking promising.I would imagine the purchaser had the same idea, just wondered if it's any of you guys beat me by a tenner?(gutted.)

probably find VW have bought it for marketing when it comes out

bad luck mate, does sound suspect- why didn't you go higher? i'm sure you'd make a fair bit more once the r20 is on the road?

Yeah i know. The private plate thing is not really my cup of tea, just caught my eye and thought it would look nice on the right car.Judging by the Mk6 prices i'll need every cent to put one on the road anyway! Hope they offer a couple of different colours on the R20,Ultramarine blue off the German VW configurator would be my ideal.

This is quite likely. The UK Press Office have a huge number of registrations, many of which are not even applied to cars but are probably worth quite a bit.
