the abf is from an ibiza and my mk2 is a 8v

-
what gearbox is it? if its mk2 box on a mk2 front crossmember you need a mk2 front mount & bracket
-
its an abf box (dont know code) and bracket and a mk2 crossmenber and mount is there a different bracket for a mk3 golf compared to a seat ibiza
i got it bolted up but not sure its right
-
I would be interested in the answer to this as I'm looking to convert my mk2 to ABF and one of the (many) questions I'm trying to resolve is whather to retain the mk2 gearbox or swap over the one from the mk3.
Sorry to jump in on your thread but I'll watch the answers with interest.

ok what you want is the std MK2 front mount and a Golf G60/Corrado/Passat 4 pot manual front engine bracket. I did think the MK3 ABF one would work but apparently not!
-
cheers
i did get it bolted up but there seemed a lot of pressure getting the bolts started and it didnt quite seem right
-
i got one from a l reg passat diesel earlier and it didnt fit properly the bolt hole in the bracket for the mount looked like it needed to be 10-20mm further back
does anyone have any part numbers for the brackets that they are using cheers
-
part number for the 02a + MK2 subframe bracket is 357 199 273 - 40.93+VAT
-
cheers mate

i got another mount from an earlier passat this weekend and if that doesnt fit will the front cross member from a toledo work with the abf bracket as i wont have time to go to vw
-
if its the right age yeah! if you look at the 2 bolt holes where the bumper bolts go thru, the MK2 type have the holes inline, MK3 type has the holes staggered. hope that makes sence!
-
the earlier passat mount lined up ok apart from the metal water pipe bolt hole sits lower and behind where its meant bolt to but its nothing i cant live with
-
perfecto!
