Very good price!! Don't think i've seen a straight Gti for that kind of money? Is it HPi clear?

cheers mate
i thought tornado red died wid the mk3.Yea had hpi checked at work came back fine
do you no of wheels are 5x112.
-
Wheels are all 5x112 now, on all 5-stud VAGs - well apart from the Toe-rag. Yours look like 17"s.
Nice car btw, and welcome to the Mk5 section. :afro:
-
they are 17s and look to small need some 18"s i think, what coilies are most peaple running.
-
Welcome
A very nice GTI you've got there! even better price - there aren't many around for that sort of money!! Spot on!!
There is a school of thought that the GTI handles better on the 17s - I know exactly what you mean though. I've got 17s on mine yet I'm undecided about bigger wheels. I did test a couple of cars with different size wheels, and tbh the 18s did feel a harder ride.
Haven't looked at coil-overs yet - got to sort the woeful stereo out first!!
Are you planning to turn yours into a modding exercise? Will watch with great interest! If you haven't already, you might also want to look at mk5golfgti.co.uk (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php) (shameless plug but if you register, mention me as your referrer  )
Lot of highly focused content about the mk5 there

Good car and a good price Danny
Welcome to the forum.
It is a steep learning curve if you are going down the modding route with your car as there's tons of info out there on the web.
Like T_T says they are 5 x 112 wheel fitment and just to add the stock offset is 51.
Are you simply wanting to lower the car for looks or planning to adjust them for trackwork?
You may consider springs if you just want a better stance
I'm running on Eibach Pro Street S coilovers at the minute, but considering an upgrade to the new Bilstein B16 PSS10's
Maybe you need to have a look around the forum at some of the historical posts on coilovers, set yourself a budget and start a specific thread off for coilovers as it is an awfully big topic

Great price.
-
thanks everone for the comments
i will only do a few bits most liking to be suspension/wheels/remap/exsaust/window tints/and some body colour coding.
i only wana drop it for the stance not to worried about having a hard ride as the mk3 is as hard as it can get so will be geting the some 18" wheels propley the polished standard one any body know what the cheap replicas are like.
should i just get springs and not worry on the coilies??????
cheers

Ref the 18'' alloys mate it's down to choice. Some reps are very good & they can be great value for money i.e bbs replica's !.I changed the 17'' monza alloys that came on mine for a set of genuine 18'' edition 30 alloys (not a fan of the monza).
-
That car was a bargain mate! Well done!
-
ive seen some brand new 18" inch monza reps polished for 450 wid tyres.any goood :undecided:
