Title: couple of questions
Post by: bobreece on 25 August 2009, 16:06
does cruise control save fuel and is it worth it?

how do i tell if my 150 tdi has the sports suspension as standard fitted?

Cruise "should" save you fuel, but knowing how to drive a car economically can also do the job just as well, if not better.

Your 150 will have the same set-up as the 1.8T ;)

I found that driving carefully got me more mpg than when I had cruise control on
and yes the tdi150 has the sports suspension

have to agree with Alan (starting to become a regular occurance  :undecided:)

Cruise i guess is a nice feature to have but i've never gotten on with it.  Set your trip comupter to show instant MPG and play around with the throttle - that will give you a good idea of what can be achieved

park it next to a standard NON GTI Golf - thats how you tell

Springs have colour codes on them - most likely scrubbed off depending on mileage mind

Well put it this way, they came with the 1.8Ts Sports setup out the factory. Why someone would take them out and put the lesser ones on makes no sense. They may have replaced with with an aftermarket setup which will give a slightly harsher ride (depending on what went in) but this will improve handling and reduce bodyroll etc etc over the Sports setup.

could have been driven through a hedge backwards or not washed since it was bought

if you're getting under the car try and check near the top of the springs as they are prone to rusting and snapping!! My passenger side spring did this and when i had the springs changed my drivers side was going the same way......
