HELP PLEASE !! GOING SLOWLY MAD !!
GTI MK3 8V : RUNS FOR APPROX 10 MINS THEN CUTS OUT. WAIT FOR 10 MINS WILL START AND DRIVE FOR ANOTHER 10 MINS .... SAME THING.
SO FAR HAVE HAD FOLLOWING DONE:
ECU RELAY CHANGED, COIL CHANGED, NEW CRANK SENSOR, FUEL RELAY, NEW KEY RECODED AT VW DEALER, WHO THEN TOLD GARAGE THAT THROTTLE HOUSE BODY WAS UP THE SPOUT!!
PICKED CAR UP FROM GARAGE THIS MORNING AFTER THROOTLE HOUSE BODY WAS CHANGED "ALL OK" THEY SAID.....REALLY ! 10 MINS LATER SAT AT SIDE OFF ROAD HAVING A BASIL FAWLTY MOMENT.
GARAGE SEEM TO BE SHOOTING IN THE DARK NOW AND ITS COSTING ME A FORTUNE!! AT THE END OF MY TETHER NOW SO ANY IDEAS WOULD BE APPRECIATED.

seems like its getting up to temp and then cutting out..
im assuming the garage have read for fault codes??

Hi, welcome to the site, turn your cap lock off mate makes it seem like your shouting :laugh: Could be your maf or inlet manifold temp sensor. Have a look here.

im not overly familiar with the ignition setup on the gti engine, but does it use a hall effect sender on the dizzy to control spark timing? ive had a couple of vws that have failed due to the hall sender packing up. the car would run fine till it got hot, would then cut out randomly and would not re-start till the engine was cold. once cold it would restart then run for a very short period of time.
when it next cuts out, pull a spark plug out and see if it will spark when earthing it on the cylinder head.

Mine did exactly the same but it was the crank sensor? have you got a vw one or a cheepo?
