Title: Is my clutch knackered and can they be ajusted?

hi ive got an 8v gti 1995 and think my clutch is on its way out. the biting point has suddenly moved very high up and is about and inch from the top when you release the clutch. there is no clutch slip or juddering however! can they be adjusted or are they self ajusting meaning mine is a gonner? how much is a new one had a look on ebay and can get one for 75 quid but obv want to find out if it can be fixed or not before i go splashing the cash

They are self adjusting, also worth fitting a new cable with the new clutch.
