Title: weird whistle

right my fans where whistling so got them replaced with new ones and now the noise is back. its like it comes from the clutch area aswell when i change gera its a whistley metal noise not like the normal turbo whoosh but you can only hear that whoosh when the window is down and the fans only whistle when i accelerate any ideas guys as the vw garge keeps saying there is nowt wrong but i can hear it and its getting worse/more frequent

what does the noise sound like, where do you think its coming from.. and when does it occur?

noise is a whistle like one of those old plastic kids flute toys

coming from clutch pedal area and also fom fans sometimes

when accelerating the fans make the noise then when i change gear and press the clutch the other whistle noise happens its like a quick 1 second whistle the time it takes me to push clutch all the way in

bit inside your gearbox - costs about £40 but is normally only replaced when you put in a new clutch due to the labour involved

still can't work out what you mean about your fans  :undecided:  i never hear mine when the car is in motion  :huh:

you got manual aircon or climatronic??

climatronic its like something is blowing through them at a very high speed but only when i accelrate and dont say the air. i mean its seperate like somthing else hope u understand its hard to put into words m8

got any smoke coming out of the back??

thought it might be a leak i sometimes feel like it loses power especially after a long journey recording would be difficult m8 just imagine a high pitch tinny whistle noise

been having a think about this - you sure you haven't got a loose exhaust mount or something like that??

also have a poke around the engine bay for any loose bolts etc etc

took it in they said we cant hear it even though i could they said they have checked it all over the turbo and bits but they say its all ok just picked it up and its getting worse does it now when i accelrate hard and when i change gear after accerating hard so its becoming more and more well pssed off wanted to punch they vw guys saying they carnt hear owt but me and my gf both can its bullsht
