Title: amp fitment mk3 golf
Post by: sambo1670 on 22 August 2009, 16:37
hello, im about to start thinking about putting my box of tricks in the car, i bought a fusion amp, 6x9, a front speaker pack month ago.  however where in the mk3 can you mount the amp, im thinking of on the parcel shelf but someone said on here a while back you cant mount them upside down.  And is the such a thing like a plug that i could wire everything through to the boot, and disconnect when i need to take the parcel shelf out.

cheers

The reason for not mounting amps upside down is the heat, instead of escaping via the heatsink, goes back through the amps vital bits & bobs. Some people have had amps mounted upside for years with no troubles, others have had to buy new amps.

You can but various plugs for connecting your amp up. Google neutrik as they do a range, I'm using the speakon one at the mo and they rock.

You could mount on backseat or vertical in rear arch well. As long as it's done securely.

Mounted mine on side above offside rear arch.
Had to make up a rather complicated frame bracket, but if you interested I can show you how!
