Title: Better Exhaust
Post by: damien010685 on 21 August 2009, 14:32
Hi folks just bought my first car a 1994 mk3 golf gti 2.0 8v Absolutely love it its silver and looks really nice.... Im about to put Rs8 alloys on it as i think loos fantastic on this model of car... However the standard exhaust on the car i feel looks crap... And i want to change it for something that looks better maybe a twin or a wide ended backbox but to be honest i know nothing about exhausts other than what they do.
Was wondering if anyone had any ideas on a system or backbox or whats best.... I dont want it to be to noisey like some twit in a 1.2 corsa with an exhaust bigger than the car just something with a nice purr...

Also i have been told that changing the air filter or perhaps induction kit to make a more natural roar is good.. but worried about increaseing performance will end up destroying the car? any suggestions on a good basic setup engine wise would also be appreciated...

Dont get a one silencer system if you dont want a loud system.
Jetex Miltek are very good Powerflow/Longlife can vary quite a lot from place to place
I stood and watched mine being made and guided the bloke making it, other Powerflow/Longlife systems i have seen have been pretty shoddy
