the ones currently fitted to your engine

glow plugs are only used in the start up of the engine and are redundant once the engine is started

Sorry to Hi-Jack your thread mate but having sold my MK3 GTi and with a baby on the way in 9 weeks time I have purchased a 1999 Golf GT TDi 110 for quite a reasonable price, when cold it will start by just looking at the key but when warm it will turn-over about 6 - 8 times before firing, this is getting to us now and was wondering if this is a glow plug matter ??? Any suggestions would be welcomed, cheers

no that wont be glowplugs if it was the other way around it would be the glowplugs, the glowplug heats up the cylinder enough for the diesel to combust and is only needed when the engine is started from cold ie first thing in the morning

Ive got a 1999 gt tdi 110 also and have found that cold starting is fine its only when the engine is warm it will struggle to turn over. takes around 5secs for it to start when its warm, however once you have left the engine off for abit it starts fine. :S so any info on this would help me as well.
