Title: Rear badge change
Post by: richard ellison on 07 September 2004, 21:41
Looking to get rid of my horrid plastic rear badges... If i take them off is it ok to cover the holes by sticking the replacments over the exisitng holes.

Bodyshop quote was loads to fill and respray the boot.....

ideas appreciated  :)

Was just looking at getting shiny silver lettering

I had mine filled and repsrayed for under a ?100. Get some more quotes.
I did this originally, but the spacing of the badges looked poor. You can see the result on my gallery photos. Now I have them filled and sprayed, the badges are sat below the lights - mkIV CABRIO badge on the right and 20th anniversary USA GTI badge on the left.

Ebay - thats where I get mine from. Usually much cheaper than main dealers prices.

If ur keeping badges on the car and plan to cover the holes, make sure the holes are water tight with the new badges on. You don't want to be letting water get in there.
