Title: Will an Uprated newman cam work in a Mk1 Head, and A mk2 Head??
Post by: Rixy on 20 August 2009, 06:14
i was under the impression that the heads were for sale, so i've just completed a competition spec head rebuild, only to realise the heads are fundamentally different inside. The standard cams are different too.......

Will the uprated high lift race spec cam i've got (for a mk1 gti) fit and run in my mk2 head?

If not - then i've got a mk2 gti Ported, polished, rebuilt head for sale!!!

If both are 1.8 and non hydraulic then yes, if the mk2 head is hydraulic then no.
