Title: worried about mot

hiya guys im new to all this so bear with me right ive just brought a L reg gti 8v for 270 quid with no tax or test and no service history(am i mad). im gonna put it through an mot nxt wk is there any thing major i can look for my self? ive checked all the lights and there fine wiper blades ok ive looked underneath i cant see any rust well nothing major my old man told me to get some injector cleaner and pour it in the tank before i take it in (hes a mechanic but lives 400 mile away :sad: ) all the tyres are gd nick all tho 1 has a slowy flat within 3/4 days  i think im just worrying to much but any info will be appreciated

take it for a good run before you take it for the mot, blow all the sh!t outa it..make sure its clean and looks presentable ;)

I wouldn't worry about it too much,the cars cost you nearly 300 quid so far,so take it for the mot and then you will have a clearer picture of what condition it's in,aleast you will know where you stand with it and what needs doing to it to bring it back up to scratch  :smiley: also imo you will be reasured sooner rather than later that you havnt or have bought a death trap?,I'd be more worried if I bought a car for that price with 12 months ticket.
