Almost certain it would be AGG but check it
could be on sticker on cambelt cover, its stamped onto the block somewhere also and normaly on yur v5

Check on "Boney the Golfless Bradleys" web page, a gold mine of info from when he was in the "tug squad"

(AGG)

most likely to be AGG, my old 1996 n-reg was one as well.
-
A slow one.
OK, I'll stop the MK3 jokes now.
-
It says on the sticker in the boot on mine above the paint code :)
-
My 1996 was a AGG
-
My 1996 is AG-UNIT
-
should be an agg on the year but it has being known for earlier cars to get registered years later
-
Are the AGG Engines better?
-
Possibly the worst all rounder! :lipsrsealed:
It was the 1995 emmision regualtions engine (less emmisions less performance..2e's are best and more tunable due to the bosch injection)
-
How much in difference then? and can i change the injection unit then?

injection on the ady and agg is the same but the 2e uses bosch injection which seems to be much more reliable and easier to set up then the simos system
-
Cheers for that.
just wanted to know that there both the same power really...
but good to know. Cheers

whip off the distributor cap, if its a single window its an agg if its a 4 window its a 2e
