as above really, mines on just over 125k and is due a oil change and service soonish.
I've got some engine flush but as its on high miles i don't want to do it more harm than good
-
Some people swear by it but i dont use it at all.
Get some of this IMO:

Along with some quality oil :afro:
-
i used some on my mrs old diesel zx, f**ked it rite up, bits of coke from what the flush had melted off the valve seating stuck 2 exhaust valves open.
never use again
-
just drop the oil while it's still warm.. most of the cack will fall out that way
-
Not saying others are wrong but - i've never had any trouble using it on any of ther cars i have serviced.
-
Flush will never ever grace any of my lumps. :)

Nothing wrong with using engine oil flush at all, if it causes damage then the internals are probably on the way out anyway.
However only run the car at idle when its in the engine, do not drive the car.
I've read plenty of people on the internet that have done that, and you will risk f**king it
If you are worried about crud accumulating in the sump, drop it off and give it a good clean.
-
would it be worth whipping the sump off and cleaning the gunk out? when i drop the oil out?
I guess i'd have to change the gasket but is the sump plug reusable?
Just blast it out with a pressure washer? or something a little more indepth.
-
Probably be alright to just use the flusher, unless you think the oil hasn't been done for a very long time...

Just make sure your hand is out of the way when you do it, oil holds heat for a long time and hurts like f*ck when its all over your hand
infact I would compare it when I was angle grinding an exhaust bolt off and it fell onto my arm, worse than being kicked in the boll*cks
