Title: Turbo on way out?
Post by: Ady TDI on 17 August 2009, 14:13

Was under my car earlier and i had oil dripping very slightly from my intercooler hose, i pushed the hose on incase it came loose, wiped the oil left it for a few hrs looked again and the oil was back, i was told it could be the turbo on it's way out?

Is this true

checked the oil level in the engine??

its normal to have some oil in and around the intercooler.  But if its pints of it then be worried

also any blue / white smoke coming from the exhaust?

also if the oil is still dripping out after re-fitting the hose i'd invest in some new o-rings.  Also check the lugs on the pipes as if they're worn you'll be pushing that pipe back on very soon

Thanks Rhyso, engine oil is fine, it's only a slight drip of oil, there are no oil staines on my drive.

Will change the o rings and see if that cures it, also not blue / white smoke that i've noticed but will keep an eye out now
