The problem is that over bumps the rear suspension is fine, even speedbumps, but over like small crevases and joins on the road the car seems harsh and somtimes really 'bangs'
I thought this might be due to worn out bushes at the bottom of the shocker
the suspension is all standard not lowered or anything
could this be the case or is it likely somthing else perhaps the shockers themselves are just fecked?

If its not the shocks then check the rear axle bushes.

Rear top mounts maybe.

Could be the bump stops

Worn out shocks

my bet's top mounts

i would try new top mounts mate

Thanks for all the replys, Im wondering where to begin looking for the rear axle bushes ( are they visible?)
I know where to locate the other stuff, how much for a set of rear top mounts from VW?
and what about a rear pair of original vw shockers, might aswell do both at once really.
I think ill wait for the mot thought, its due in november :( it might need other things as long as my arm doing to it!
