I went to test drive the car this morning and moving from my Pug 1.4 sport to this beast, its a different world so smooth and so much power!
Here it is (http://search.autotrader.co.uk/es-uk/www/cars/VOLKSWAGEN+GOLF/Ne-2-4-5-6-7-8-27-44-49-53-61-64-67-103-133-146-236,N-240-4294966835-4294966886/advert.action?R=200932339326317&distance=9&postcode=ml3+7hl&channel=CARS&make=VOLKSWAGEN&model=GOLF&min_pr=&max_pr=&max_mileage=&vehicleYearOfManufacture=2007&vehicleRegLetter=E)
End price including p/x my 55 plate 206 was 13295, they gave me £4700 for the pug. Got mats and full tank of petrol too.
Chuffed!
Btw the dealer looked confused when i asked him about the edition 30 number, he said only the anniversary editions have numbers but i believe all edition 30's have numbers?
-
Hi
Ed30s didn't come with numbers when they were new. Eventually, Volkswagen recognised that they had missed a trick and it became possible to order one.
I will have a hunt round when I'm back at work and find out how you can do it.
My suspicions are that the reason they didn't number them like the 25annies was that they were never really sure how many they were going to make!
-
I've just realised there is a sticky at the top of the page ref: Ed30 plaques.
-
Wow congratulations, white mucho desirable just now too...sounds like you are happy with the dealer, very good to know..
May be on the hunt for one of those sometime soon myself... :smug:
-
Good luck on getting your number plaque - still waiting for mine - its almost 4 months and counting!
-
Congrats. Looks very nice, especially in the second best colour (after black!). Post some more pics up when you get a chance!
-
very nice
-
Thanks guys.
Will post pics for sure.
Just need to get some insurance now.
Dealer mentioned something called P.A.R.T? Something about paying £300 over 3 years to protect the total value of the car if stolen? I may have used the wrong name but its like extra insurance wondering if anyone bought it?
-
Sounds like GAP insurance, you would do well do read the small print, and get quotes elsewhere for similar if you still want it. Sounds dear to me....
-
GAP, thats the one, thanks.
-
White ED30s look fantastic ! Congrats on the purchase and welcome to the world of MK5 :)
-
Good luck on getting your number plaque - still waiting for mine - its almost 4 months and counting!
Mine turned up the week after my car was written off!!! Good timing!
It looks naff anyway - I probably wouldn't have even bothered sticking it on.
-
Sweet.....Pug 1.4 to CW ED30...I bet that was a shock to the right foot
If you think it is fast now, wait till you have it remapped
-
PICS PLEASSSSSSSSSSEEEEEE.......
We. Want. Pics.
Actually, that looks quite a good deal too...
-
If you plan on keeping the car for 3 - 4 years then GAP insurance is well worth it.
Buy it off the internet though, it should cost just under £200 for a four year policy.
-
Definately take some form of GAP insurance. I've now over £7k out of pocket since some retard ran into the back of me and my car was written off. I wish I'd paid the £300!
-
Will get pics soon as I get the car which could be a while as my current policy doesnt end till 11 September and il need to wait for my cert to come through before being able to apply on the new one!
-
Finally got pics up

Very nice indeed.
Build quality is a tad better than the Pug isn't it?
-

much cheaper than VW, even the stealer I brought from couldn't much their price.
