Title: Fitted Powerflow system, but its rattling....
Post by: christomk3gti on 13 August 2009, 18:41
just fitted a powerflow cat back system (used to be a DE-cat system, but was sawed off and put a sleeve on so it would go on the cat. Anyway, fits fine, except the tail pipe isnt bang on centre, and its rattling abit, also because of the rattling, its slightly melted the bumper ever so slightly, I' used the standard rubber mounts, as them still look fine. Also think the heat shield above the rear axle needs either tightening, or bending as i think its rattling on that also.. the exhaust isnt hitting the axle (its well clear) When i start the car and pull away I can hear the back box hit the bumper, its all fine when driving....

Any ideas of how I can get the tailpipe (twin DTM) to sit bang on in the centre and stop the rattling...

Cheers peeps

New mounts or if still having trouble with new mounts use a cable tie around the middle of the mount.

Powerflex exhaust mounts ftw. Bit more expensive but well worth it
