Title: mk3 colour concept
Post by: gloucesterboy on 13 August 2009, 15:42
I've had my mk 3 for about a year, it's the black metallic with pretty much all the original stuff on it as from new; it's a p reg, 120k on the clock, lowered with decent alloys; tuning wise it coughs and splutters a bit and seems to be holding back from the full power, not being mechanically orientated could this be a simple case of changing the ht leads and spark plugs?
Also, is it worth leaving it as original as possible or would changing it devalue it at all?

i would look at the engine temp/ecu temp sensor, its located on the plastic water housing on the front of the head. if its giving the ecu a faulty reading it wont run right.

also unplug the air meter which is on the airfilter box, take it for a run and it goes ok then it needs replacing.

and finally leave it standard, not many really standard ones left nowadays.

When i got mine it was tottaly standard apart from the twin hella headlights. If it had been fooked around with i would of probly turned away. These are desirable models so to keep the money keep as tasteful/standard as poss.
