Title: tyres rubbing on arches
Post by: jonnyb1978 on 11 August 2009, 09:22
hi there
have mk2 golf gti with 40mm lowered suspension and 205/40 17 tyres on

have fitted 20mm spacers at rear to stop tyres rubbing on suspension cups

tyres are slightly scuffing on rear outer wheel arches now , arches are rolled with g60 arches all round

tyres also slightly scuffing on front , especially when going round corners

I have heard of tyre stretching , ? where you get thinner tyres and stretch them onto the rim
was thinking of getting 195/40 17 and getting them stretched to fit ,  would this make a difference ??

any help or support would be great as they are catching even at slow speed
