Title: What is this leak?

Hi

Seems something is leaking, only when i touch it, the stuff seems dry.

I am thinking its the transmission mount, but would that be leaking?

Yes engine / gearbox mount, they are oil filled.

Can i change them for mk4 ones? please say yes, i have two spare sets

Try GSF or euro car parts for a new one.

turns out not, approx 80 squids for all 3 mounts from gsf
