i have almost done my loom now i have 2 wires that go to the ecu plug
1 is pin 39 that i have cut near ecu plug and taped to the loom is this ok or does it need removing from the ecu plug
2 is pin 50 that doesnt appear on the info that is done by danny p so presume its not needed do i cut and tape it or remove it from ecu plug
also with the loom being from an ibiza it comes through the bulk head on the passenger side can it be run the same way in the mk2 or does it need rerouting to suit the mk2 wiring path
cheers

I didnt remove the wires from the ECU plug, i just left them about 3 inches long and put a little heatshrink over the end of it.
I did read that a few people managed to get the ECU plug to reach to the standard mk2 position on the drivers side. i didnt do this, i put it on the passenger side. i remover the cover over the heater blower then u used the ECU cage from the mk2 and lowered it about 1 inch then fit the ABF ECU to the top of it and put it over the blower hole. i them made a custom 1 inch high filter to cover the blower how and stop water running into it. It now means i can easily keep an eye on the driverside so i know its not leaking onto the fusebox!
i can hightly recommend using the cloth loom wrap, OEM finish and looks alot better than the shiney pvc stuff!

This is the stuff i used, cant really get better than the propper stuff! its not the cheapest and it took 4 rolls to do both my looms but i was pretty picky about it, but it does look like it came out of the factory!
i actually used a roll of the non adhesive pvc tape first so i was happy with the shape of my loom and the wrapped it with the vw loom tape, the finished probuct was very nice.
this stuff is probably similar............

do you have any pictures of how your loom and ecu is installed

Sorry the pics aren't the best, really wish i had taken some pics of the loom out of the car. After spending all those hours doing as neat a job as possible, once it was in the car you couldnt see all my hard work, but i guess that was the idea!
here you can see both looms comming from the bulkhead
(http://img4.imageshack.us/img4/9980/dsc06017b.jpg) (http://img4.imageshack.us/i/dsc06017b.jpg/)
This is the spur that goes to the coil
(http://img81.imageshack.us/img81/7674/dsc06016h.jpg) (http://img81.imageshack.us/i/dsc06016h.jpg/)
I used the original plastic moulded 'T' piece here to send the loom throught the bulkhead on the passenger side and down to the chassis leg
(http://img403.imageshack.us/img403/8154/dsc06014.jpg) (http://img403.imageshack.us/i/dsc06014.jpg/)
Then both looms are rooted along the chassis leg, wrapped with the original moulded bends again.

Here the loom splits, most goes to the engine plug/knock sensors, and the earth's/power all split seperatly. you can also see the lighting loom.

here, just infront of the battery you can see the mk3 lighting plug i adapted to my lighting loom, i rooted all of the lighting loom down the passenger side and then made a custom front lighting loom incorporating extra relays to take power to all the front lights. this makes it much easier to remover the front end, just undo the big plug and remover power and earths from battery.

i havent got any pics of my finished headlight loom yet, waiting for another roll of vw loom tape to be delivered and ill take it out and wrap it, i'll take pics then!
hope this helps?
