Hi, has anyone used 10k boost before to restore power of their motor?
I would like to use it on my 8 valver giving it a bit more of a kick then has at the mo. On the last dyno it had it was getting 109.9 bhp, 5 short of it's standard figure. Would this realistically achieve the original figures after a squirt of the stuff @ £32 a can?
Cheers in advance.

I wouldnt bother if i was you.
Give a propper service, new filters and run it on super. You might get a better figure.

I did it on mine and it does work. Smoother and better responce.

A 'missing' 5bhp is nothing. So many factors to take into account with dyno runs - most of which are down to the operator and mother nature.
If your engine is coked up then that stuff might make a difference, so if it's cheap it might be worth a try. With old engines though if you really are missing any horses there could be any number of things causing it.

only 5 - count ya self lucky, the mk5ers were missing as many as you car produces

10 k boost is £20 at Halfords.
I used it and it is basically carb cleaner in a really big can. It does make a difference, especially if you have a coked up system and oil and goo etc. I noticed it straight away.
But I doubt it is any more different than normal carb cleaner that you can get for £6 a can. I've tried both and next time I will just buy 3 cans of STP carb cleaner i reckon.
Also get some injector cleaner (I used STP for £6).
In a nutshell get the fuel system cleaned up first, it's cheap to do and I bet you will notice a big difference in response and power. I did.

I did put some STP fuel cleaner in a full tank, tbh didn't really notice any difference in the driving, throttle response what have you.
BTW before it was dynoed, it had a full engine service including the the timing belt & filters.
Do you use carb cleaner through the air intake whilst the engine is running?

Hi
No I used the carb cleaner whilst the engine was off. I then held the butterfly open and gave it a good spray and cleaned\wiped it. Then I started the engine and gave a good rev and took it for a good run. Do it a couple of times. Sorted my stalling issue (touch wood).
