is the mk6 GTi rare in the uk? I spend a LOT of time driving on motorways and havnt seen one yet. See loads of mk6's but no GTi's

They're only just beginning to trickle through on to the market. I hadn't seen any either, be it in showrooms or on the road, until mine was delivered last week.

I've only seen 2 within a radius of 30 miles of where I live.... both of which are local Demonstrator cars.

I drove to st ives and back (holiday) about 600 miles in total,i did`nt see any,had the kids gti mk6 spotting. :laugh:

ive seen 1 black one and 2 white ones, white looks better IMO :smiley:

I too cover loads of miles on a weekly basis and apart from mine have only seen one other parked up near where I live (i obviously live in a wealthy discerning area :grin: :grin: :grin:.
I reckon give it 6 months and they will be much more common though, like any new car really.

I've seen about 4-5 of them in the last few weeks :D I live just down the road from a main dealer though.

seen one black one around town and one black one in the dealership - apart from that not seen any others and I also do a few miles. the missus drives a lot too and she hasn't seen one!

I guess the low CO2 rating is helping there. My company has banned all cars over 200g/ km

the way it works on our scheme is that any options are paid for over the length of the term. i.e. if you're going to have a co car for 2 yrs, then the cost of options is spread over 2 yrs. they effectively assume zero residual value in options. so if you go crazy with options, then the cost of that co car goes up loads. its basically a lease deal and I'm given a car allowance to spend. i can spend more or less than the allowance, the difference means I either get more or less cash as salary.
