On a crossflow - its easy, on a counterflow, its a mess.

how easy are crossflow heads to get hold of?
would i be better going to 16v?

Youd be better with a 16v engine and ditching the carbs idea, they suck compared to throttle bodies.

I think that should link you to the piccies of the manifold ive made for a Mk1 ABF conversion.

Lots of Golf 4s, Boras, Passats and Seats have crossflow heads.  They're generally badged 1.6 or 2.0 - the head is basically the same.

I have one in my Golf.

To be honest, if I was doing it again I wouldn't waste my time, I'd go straight to ABF.

Bike carbs = tuning FAIL.
