Wow!  You don't half trust your brother!

There's that old saying "It's not what you know, but who you know".

Come on then let us know what colour? what spec and how much.  It's these things that keeps us all going.

the astra was brilliant for a couple of reasons, it was good quality (not as good as the golf), fast like a hyperactive child and was good value for money

Yes i quite like the astra vxr i did look at it but salesman was next to useless,he had not even heard of the nurburgring model and to be honest the vxr looked abit cheap and plastic inside,That seems to be the case with sporty astras good engines and cheap interiors.I scrapped a mk3 astra sport 2.0 ltr for a mk6 golf gti,i had the astra for 12 years and to be honest it was a really good car.

tell me about it, i'm not happy at all.  i wish i had used the dealer i used for my mk5, i never had this hassle and also never got the feeling that i was putting them out when i called - they were always nice as pie.  won't use these jokers again i can tell you!  i'll tell you one thing, i added the dynaudio sound thingy to my car after my initial order - i won't be paying the extra £300 odd for it - that's for free for being treated like a mug.  i'm guessing one of two things has happened - A. even though i ordered 4th may they didn't put my order through until June/July or B. someone has hassled them more and my car has been given to them and I've been bumped down the list.  Either way, shocking service.  But then that's what I expect from this country, the level of service is just a joke.  Rant over lol

ps i only have £500 down as deposit at the moment.

Personally ide drive down to the dealers 2day.... Get them to bring your car up on the computer right there infront of you and demand to see the Order page or something similiar i 4get the name. It should come up on a blue screen and it'll tell you production week, When car was ordered and loads of other little details. If the dealer has lied to you it'll become very obvious I ordered mine start of may and i also altered the order to include Xenons. And mine arrived about 5 days ago now, ( 9am september 1st ill be collecting mine ) Because of Vw's incompetence and slow ordering ive sold my MKV GTI already and my only transport at the moment is my raptor 700!

thanks for that jdjd, that's actually a very good idea.  fortunately for the dealer i work miles away from him so it will be saturday at the earliest i can go over there as i'm guessing they shut at 6pm.  but that's defo worth a go.  very interesting that you ordered the same time as me and yours has all ready arrived, particuarly as you have xenons which is what i have got too - and i was thinking that that may have held the order up until June as apparantly you couldn't order them in may (?).  i am now currently steaming mad now at my desk at work lol!!  my missus actually phoned him friday and she was told build week 34 which should mean mine should arrive september 18th "at the latest" which gives me a time frame but certainly not the 1st september i was looking for, and expecting, given the order was placed on 4th may.  f7cking (unts, i wouldn't mind but if he had been up front in the first place i would have said fine, but to be strung along like this is so frustrating.  knowing my luck first week i get it i'll probably go curb the bl0ody alloys

ps i have also sold my mk5 gti and because of VW's incompetance i'm having to drive around my missus old car, a p0xy ford focus titanium which is so slow i could run faster backwards and still get to 60 quicker than it can!!

How long after your initial order did you add the xenons?
I was told by my dealer I couldn't alter the order once it was in or it would push the date back even further. I only ordered 2 weeks ago and was wanting to add the parking sensors.

you can alter your order anytime up until it goes into production - which is a good few months.  he is talking sh1te.  i added the dynaudio thingy and apparantly that pushed my order forward a week lol!
