i have a 1990 karmann cabby and it has started giving me problems starting, it has has a new fuel pump and was running fine but now i can only get it started with easy start into the air intake and as soon as this is used it stops , i think i may have to replace the fuel pump relay , i picked up a 167 but on looking i dont have one in my fuse box so does anyone know which relay i need to change, it has jetronic on the ecu , thanks rich

run a live feed to fuel pump from battery and see if it starts
have you run tank dry/ changed fuel filter?
use the search function as this will give you loads of pointers

67, 80 or 167, slot 2

well i have pulled 62 and it is the fuel relay with 5 pins in slot 2 so i have jumped the 2 fat pins in the board and the fuel pump sparks up and the car starts and drives , does anyone have a 62 for sale because they are like rocking horse sh!te in australia, they brought all the karmann golfs over but not many spares, its ok if you have a bug or a kombi but these golfs are a bit sticky, and dont even try and get close to a mk2 because they are real scarce

GSF do them and they will ship all over the world. http://www.gsfcarparts.com/deliveries.html

did you get mk3s over there, they'll all have the relay you need
-
yes there are mk3 but wreckers dont really have them so the only way is off to the stealers to pay top dollar, thanks for the german swedish link, forgot about those guys
