My car will be delivered to the dealer on Monday, they have told me It will be ready for collection on Tuesday.
Problem I have now is do get it then, or wait 3 weeks for a 59 plate.
They have said it will make about £500 difference when it comes to trading in later on.
I know its not really something I should be thinking of right now but I have waited 10 weeks now, is another 3 going to make much difference.
Question is do I or don't I ?

Personally I wouldn't be able to wait.. but on the other hand i do have a rather sad hobby of counting how many cars i see with new plates on new registration days

I should be picking mine up next week too and i am going to get it straight away. I have a private plate so you cant tell anyway but after waiting for 14 weeks i want it RIGHT NOW and don't want to wait any longer.

I had the same problem... car arrived last week. got a call from the stealers telling me its ready :undecided:
I decided to wait.. but only because I have a car until early September otherwise I would have been all over it

Wait...  Mine is arriving in the next couple of weeks but whats an extra week or 2

plate will make bugger all difference to trade in.  I traded in my 08 Scirocco and it booked the same as a 58.
get it now, it is amazing.....

I'd wait. Think of the street cred of a 59 plate GTi
3 weeks is nothing. You know it is safe and waiting on you.

			-
Wait for 59, would be madness now to collect it with an 09 with only 3 weeks left.

Mine set sail yesterday Should be in country anytime im guessing. Gna wait till 1st. Got my Raptor till then and looking outside looks like nice weather is bk

Depends if you need it or not. If not, then look on it as extra cash for a couple of weeks.
Its crazy though because the car is no newer, it'll just sit at a dealer's car park for a few weeks!

I would wait although I prefer the look of the year "09" on the plate than the "59"...

				haha class ! :D :D
Enjoy the motor ;)

not really worth waiting imo as plates don't make rat all difference the days unless the year is different i.e. if you bought a car after jan the first but before march the first it would be a 2009 on a 58 plate

Shouldnt be any depreciation this year for GTI buyers.
4-5% price increase from 1st Sept 09 and 2.5% increase in VAT from 31st Dec.
That covers the depreciation
