Ive got a Mk3 GTi 8 V,
I recently had a problem with the clutch cable retaining clip falling out just as I got on the M25 (Nightmare), anyway refitted a new one, now I have several problems:
1: I have to wrestle to get into first gear
2: when i depress the clutch all the way in to change from first to second, second to third theres a grinding noise.
3: when driving at a steady speed theres something rattling from the engine.
Could it be that the clutch is on its way out, Ive had the thing changed six month ago.
Someone please help!!!!!!!!!!

sounds like the clutch aint fully engaging

maybe it is the clutch cable? il change it tomorrow, rather the cable then the clutch.

yeah its a hell of a lot easier to change n adjust the cable than it is a clutch!!
