Title: Intermittent rev counter problems
Post by: storky on 03 August 2009, 19:41
Hi all,

I've searched on here but have been unable to find an accurate answer.

Occassionally whilst driving my rev counter seems to cut out. Afer a minute or so it will start up again.

I've also noticed that when the rev counter cuts out i am unable to go through the MFA options (althought clock is still displayed).

Any ideas please?!?!?!?!

Thanks, Jon

Hmmmmmm . . . you may be right!

Others have mentioned '21 fuse' in previous threads?

Fuse 21 takes the clock out as well so probably not that, might be a dodgy tacho connection on the coil but I doubt that would stop the mfa scrolling, its usually a fault on one of the circuit boards or the voltage regulator chip. There's quite a bit of electronics in these dash pods, especially behind the rev counter and thats the one that controls the mfa as well. I was very surprised when I took mine to bits.
