Title: What is the closest colour match Halfords do to the MK3 Tornado red?

Hi guys,

Picking up an MK3 GTI in tornado red but has a couple of little marks that'll annoy me,
Was going to pop into Halfords to see if they do a close colour match from one of the other
car makers touch up kits, anyone know what colour will be the closest match.

I looked on Halfords but they don't do MK3 colors & i doubt they will in store.

Your best bet is to get it from VW, worth bearing in mind even then it may not match as reds tend to fade badly.

Cheers, but i'm guessing it would be quite expensive from a dealer.
I don't mind if it's not the exact colour, just need to fill a small part. :)

It is not that expensive and better quality than Halfords paint.

they do sell vw tornado red touch up kits... ive bought 2  :rolleyes:

halfords tornado red isn't bad but it's not perfect. I got a genuine VW touch up stick from ebay for about 3 quid, was spot on

Went into Halfords & saw the Tornado red but it's more of a browny red then a bright red. Wouldn't flash red be better?

depends if your car is flash red or tornado  :grin:  it dries on the same colour
